New campaign to help the 40% of men too embarrassed to see
their pharmacist to get treatment for erection problems
New
research released today reveals that a staggering 40% of men admit that they
would be too embarrassed to go to their pharmacist to fulfil a prescription for
treatment for their erection problems1. To help, a new men's health awareness
campaign launches today to raise awareness of erection problems and
Pharmacy2U's revolutionary online service for men who are too embarrassed to
obtain their treatment from their pharmacist.
Dr Colm O'Mahony, a
Consultant in Genito-Urinary Medicine from Chester Hospital, explains that,
"These findings are not surprising but there is no need for men to feel
embarrassed - erection problems is a common condition that affects up to one in
two men over 50 years at some point in their lives2. But for the thousands of
men who may be too embarrassed to see a pharmacist face-to-face Pharmacy2U
offers a discreet, low cost service, which issues treatments for erection
problems at almost cost price. This represents huge savings to patients
enabling men previously put off by the high street pharmacy private
prescription charges to access and afford treatment. At consultation, when I
show patients the Pharmacy2U costs they are pleasantly
surprised."
Pharmacy2U's online dispensing service delivers patients'
medicines to their chosen delivery address free of charge and in plain
packaging.
Steve Thompson (55) was diagnosed with ED eighteen months ago
and explains why Pharmacy2U could transform thousands of lives across the UK;
"It is discreet, anonymous and embarrassment free. With plain packaging and the
convenience of delivery to an address of my choosing, no-one need know that I
have ED. Pharmacy2U has helped me to regain my sex life and has given me the
confidence to speak about my erection problems and encourage other men to come
forward and seek help."
Ann Tailor, Director of the Sexual Dysfunction
Association (SDA) explains that, "Pharmacy2U's service is an innovative and
highly convenient alternative for the thousands of men who are too embarrassed
to obtain their treatments after seeing a GP."
The men's health
awareness campaign, which launches today, includes advertising in men's service
station washrooms.
